At the Matilda Centre it told the story of the song 'Waltzing Matilda'.
Out the front of the Waltzing Matilda Centre.
The words of the song are behind me.
A bit of fun inside!
There was a lot to see again inside. There was a Artist Gallery with some very good paintings. Some of the paintings you could not see properly until you were standing back. Then they look better. A lot of landscapes.
In one room was a display of a lot of bits from the early settlers.
This was one display of about 5 of cameras.
Lots of old trucks to see.
a very old International.
After spending a couple of hours looking at the Waltzing Matilda Centre we went to
Winton's Diamantina Heritage Truck and Machinery Museum Inc.
This more lots of old trucks.
Old Fire Truck.
This truck belonged to "Toots".
Toots was the first female truck driver in Queensland.
Mum said Toots was a little rough around the edges and could give the men a run for their money!
Toots passed away in a truck accident in Northern Queensland and the truck has been restored in her memory.
